Week 11 | August 7-11 | Antony Gormley
British sculptor Antony Gormley’s work explores the relationship of the body to the space it inhabits. He is best known for his large-scale public installations, often portraying a human form overlooking a city’s skyline. Whole Foods Market will provide free healthy snacks for all summer camps.
Grades K-1 | Look at Me Move! | Annalisa Campbell
Look at me, I’m a sculptor! Campers will learn new ways to create sculpture and explore the movement of a drawing mannequin. They’ll use clay, ink and magnets to create their own moveable sculpture.
Grades 2-4 | Solving Shapes | Debbie Elledge
Construct, connect, build, assemble and organize your ideas into awesome art pieces. Can you build with paper the same way you use wooden blocks? How can spheres be stacked like sugar cubes? Students will have fun answering these questions while creating art.
Grades 5-6 | Not Just a Box | Jessica Petrus
Exploring the work of contemporary artist Antony Gormley, students will learn how to transform a normal box into wonderful sculptures. Students will dive into how to make contemporary works of art exploring cubism and shape.
