At the Myriad Botanical Gardens this weekend, stroll through gorgeous plants while enjoying tunes and spectacles from the Busker Street Fair. A busker is someone who performs music or other forms of entertainment, so you’ll be sure to see a plethora of live street performers and musicians. Tarot card readers and magicians will also be in attendance, so watch some tricks or dive into the prophecy of your future. Local beer and desserts will be offered, so come hungry and stay for the stilt walkers and face painting. 6–9 p.m., Myriad Botanical Gardens, OKC.
PUP | September 10
Toronto punk band PUP are making their way to Oklahoma City this weekend at the Tower Theatre. With their newest record, The Unraveling of PUPtheBand, the talented musical group unleashed lyrical anthems and even appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers. Partnering with Grammy Award-winning producer Peter Katis, PUP expanded their sound on their latest record and were remotely joined on the album by indie artists such as Sarah Tudzin from Illuminati Hotties, Kathryn McCaughey from NOBRO, Melanie St-Pierre from Casper Skulls, and Erik Paulson from Remo Drive. Head over to the Tower Theatre on Saturday for an exciting performance of guitar-driven mayhem. Grab some drinks and bring a friend to enjoy the music. 8 p.m., Tower Theatre, 425 NW 23rd St., OKC.
OKC Thunder Fan Fest | September 11
This free fan event offers tons of exciting opportunities to all OKC Thunder fanatics. Rather than waiting for the first tipoff to get that Thunder thrill, this fan festival provides the whole family with a chance to take photos with the Thunder Girls, listen to music from the Thunder Drummers and get their face painted by the Storm Chasers. At 4:30 p.m., Rumble the Bison will make an appearance to get everyone ready for the upcoming season with a glow dance party. In addition to these entertainers, the OKC Thunder Fan Fest offers giveaways for tickets to Thunder games, concert tickets for artists such as Keith Urban and Backstreet Boys, and more. Don’t forget — attendees will also have the chance to buy single-game tickets for the first half of the upcoming season prior to going on sale to the public. 2–5 p.m., Paycom Center, OKC.
