Icee, Slurpee, slushy, snow cone — we’ve been conditioned since childhood to love frozen drinks, so it’s no surprise that we also love frozen cocktails. During a summer like the one we’re currently experiencing, those slushy treats feel like a ward against triple-digit temperatures, even if we’re mostly forced to drink them inside and not on a patio. They also have the added benefit of forcing you to pace yourself, unless you want brain freeze to go with your buzz. To help you endure the remainder of summer, here are 10 Frozen Cocktails to Try Now.

Burger Punk, 3012 N. Walker Ave., OKC
The Turbo is still one of the best choices in the 405: Evan Williams Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon, coconut creme and coffee make this one impossible to resist.

Flamingo, 605 NW 28th St., OKC
Oklahoma City finally has a real tiki bar, and it’s in the city’s hottest food and beverage district, the Paseo Arts District. The menu is loaded with classic and modern tikis, including the signature Flamingo, a rum-soaked, colorful hibiscus plunge into the tropics.

Good Times, 1234 N. Western Ave., OKC
This busy dive bar always has a couple of options on the menu, but it’s added an Okie favorite in the form of frozen Cherry Limeade.

Jones Assembly, 901 W. Sheridan Ave., OKC
Chances are you’ve had the delicious wine-and-gin cocktail called the Frosé already, and you might even have picked one up to go. Charles Friedrich created it by blending Spanish rosé, Gordon’s Gin, lemon and strawberry.

Mexican Radio, 1734 NW 16th St., OKC
Lunazul Blanco Tequila, lime, agave syrup and watermelon syrup create the Watermelon Margarita at this Plaza District spot. It’s a boozy refresher on a hot day.

Paseo Daiquiri Lounge, 3020 N. Walker Ave., OKC
Ever hit up one of those daiquiri-to-go joints in New Orleans or south Texas? A wall of brightly colored frozen daiquiris — plastic cups, tape on the lid, sugar bomb deliciousness — sets the mood for festive occasions, and this “just off the Paseo” daiquiri joint recreates that vibe to perfection.

Ponyboy, 423 NW 23rd St., OKC
You’ll see the frozen drink machine downstairs as soon as you walk in. It’s full of Lunazul Blanco Tequila, coconut, lime and strawberry, and the cocktail is called the Vice City. Good luck only drinking one.

Sidecar – Chisholm Creek, 13230 Pawnee Dr., OKC
If you don’t mind the heat, the outside bar at Sidecar’s north location offers a frozen espresso martini Wednesday through Saturday on band nights. It’s already one of the most popular drinks around, so why not have a frozen version?

Trompudo’s Tacos, 6015 S. May Ave., OKC
A south side taqueria with frozen margaritas? Yes. Owner Lupe Garcia added a full bar to his South May taqueria, and the margaritas are delicious, especially the frozen strawberry margarita.

The Winston, 106 W. Main St., Norman
Norman’s favorite whiskey destination also offers a Watermelon Fresca, a frozen drink modeled after agua fresca. Watermelon, Tito’s Vodka, Aperol and sparkling wine make it zippy but balanced. And by the way, its sister restaurant, Pub W, will be rolling out a frozen bourbon-and-cola cocktail using Buffalo Trace, Averna and sarsaparilla syrup beginning Aug. 9.
