The biggest arts festival in the metro returns downtown this week, opening to the public Thursday at 10 AM. Browse art from 144 different artists from around the world and take in performances daily by singers and dancers as well as other fun, entertaining acts. The festival is famous for food, so visit either side of the Civic Center and save room to try some delicious delicacies made by local restaurants.

One of the top marathon events in the country takes place in the heart of OKC this Sunday. But did you know that the weekend is packed with exciting events and activities? Friday, head to the OKC Convention Center for a health and fitness expo, which includes panels, a free yoga class and so much more! Saturday, the races begin with the Memorial 5K, the Senior Marathon and Kids Marathon, as well as plenty of other fun events. Sunday is the main event, with the Half and Full Marathon, followed by the Finish Line Festival at Scissortail Park.
The Complete Works of William Shakespeare [abridged]

Raise more than a beer for our local heroes at Banquets for the Brave on Friday evening. Grab some free food, free beer and free beer gear, but feel free to drop some dollars into the donation bucket to support these public servants. OKC Firefighters 157 represents the 1,000+ uniformed men and women of the OKC Fire Department.

Oklahoma City Opera is hosting a fun event for both opera lovers and novices alike. Myths and Sips will explore some of the mythological themes found in opera, paired with a delicious cider from OK Cider Co. Bee Healthy Cafe Opens at Earlywine Park

The YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City has teamed up with the nutritional go-to, Bee Healthy Cafe, with a grand opening of their new restaurant at the YMCA at Earlywine Park. To celebrate the event, there will be free smoothie samples, giveaways and fun family friendly activities. This event is free and open to the all, even if you do not have a membership to the YMCA.

The Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program allows the Oklahoma City Museum of Art to allow free admission to guests on the second Sunday of the month. We Are Here Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Local artists Denise Duong and Gabriel Friedman unveil their new large scale sculpture We Are Here this Sunday afternoon in Military Park. This public artwork honors the 50th anniversary of the Vietnamese Boat People’s refugee journey to Oklahoma City. It is meant to honor their mass migration and to give space for each individual’s experience. The event will feature a walk in remembrance and personal stories as well as a dedication, lighting of incense, prayers and special guests. This event is free and open to the public.
