In our monthly Table Talk series, we gather food and drink news in one place for your convenience. From restaurant openings to new local pop-ups, here’s what we’ve seen in the Oklahoma City food and drink scene this month.
Speakeasy — and Sangria — Saturdays
By day and by night, Saturday drink specials are pouring in all summer-long. At Toast & Coffee, customers can get $6 summer sangria every Saturday through Labor Day, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Might I suggest taking your drinks to the shaded back patio? Later, Carletti’s and The Kentucky Club launched Speakeasy Saturdays. From 10 p.m. until midnight, all summer long, it’s a unique new option for nightlife, live jazz, and after-dinner cocktails in a vintage-chic setting.
World Cup Energy
As the FIFA World Cup heats up this summer, cheer on team France at OKC’s resident Francophile, Le Parisien. The Midtown bistro is opening its doors two hours early — at 2 p.m. — on June 16, to celebrate the squad’s first World Cup appearance, toasting with menu specials and an earlier happy hour menu.

Eat and Drink With Pride
Menu items are getting colorful for Pride, with month-long specials and events around OKC, like 30th Street Market’s cereal milk-infused Pride Latte, topped with colorful Froot Loops, and limited-edition Pride burgers and cocktails — the latter made with strawberry lemonade — at 39th Street’s Rainbow Bistro. Meanwhile, Stonecloud Brewing Co. is showing its Pride with new rainbow T-shirts, with a portion of proceeds benefitting Freedom Oklahoma, Oshiki is hosting a Dine N’ Drag show during Pride on the Plaza June 12, and the OKC Zoo features a Pride-themed Sip & Stroll on June 19, with food, drinks, and drag shows.

A New Chef Checks In
Xavior McKittrick was appointed executive chef at FLINT and FLORA at downtown’s Colcord Hotel. Most recently manning the stoves at Whiskey Cake, the seasoned pro brings an inventive ingredient-driven approach to modern comfort cuisine, adding new dishes like pork chops with cherry-bourbon glaze, a cayenne-breaded crispy chicken sandwich, and short rib pappardelle with garlic cream and gremolata.

A New Take on Sushi
From the same owners as Takaramono and Ling Long comes a Japanese newcomer offering a playful approach to sushi. Across the street from Casady Square, Oishii Express is going viral for its “Push Pop Sushi,” and for anyone nostalgic for push pop candies and ice creams, it’s exactly what it sounds like, but instead of dessert, it’s maki rolls made with tuna and salmon.

Raise a Glass to Route 66
As America’s Mother Road celebrates its centennial through 2026, OKC is honoring its legacy on the iconic highway with events like Pops Strange Soda Cocktails & Collage Night. Blending Americana with quirky soda flavors, the event is held at the Oklahoma History Center on June 26, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., when guests 21+ can sample cocktails and mocktails made with various flavors from Pops Soda Ranch in Arcadia.
