As a fifth-generation Oklahoman, Dr. Blake Christensen’s roots run deep in the Deer Creek and Edmond communities, as does his commitment to helping patients reclaim their lives from chronic pain. A magna cum laude graduate from the University of Oklahoma, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Letters with a minor in science while competing as a Division I wrestler.
Dr. Christensen went on to earn his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the OSU College of Osteopathic Medicine before returning to Oklahoma City to complete his Anesthesiology residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. His pursuit of advanced training led him to Chicago, where he completed an ACGME-approved fellowship in Interventional Pain Management and is now board-certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, giving patients confidence in his expertise.
At Oklahoma Pain Treatment Centers, Dr. Christensen focuses on identifying the true source of discomfort and treating pain at the source. He emphasizes minimally invasive, cutting-edge procedures tailored to each patient’s needs, while striving to eliminate reliance on opioids and improve quality of life. Patients describe him as lighthearted, reassuring, and someone who brings laughter into the exam room.
His message to those suffering from back pain, neck pain, or nerve-related discomfort is that if surgery isn’t the right fit, then interventional pain management may offer a path forward. At OPTC, Dr. Christensen provides individualized, evidence-based solutions aimed at helping patients move, live, and thrive again, addressing a wide range of chronic pain conditions with proven techniques.
