OKC’s Best Barbecue Spots for Summer

These Oklahoma City spots hold their own against the country's barbecue capitals.

Sandwiched between iconic barbecue destinations like Kansas City and Texas, OKC has its fair share of high-quality brisket, pulled pork and smoked sausages. For a feast that sings of summer at its most savory, bring an appetite to Edge Craft BBQ, an authentic ode to central Texas-style ’cue served in a lofty, industrial-style dining room on the near west side. Using oak-fired smokers, the menu features some of the best brisket and smoked turkey in the metro, along with plump, succulent sausages and summery sides like potato salad, mac & cheese and fried okra.

For a decadent take on barbecue, Hank’s takes state fair-inspired comfort foods—like super-sized smoked turkey legs—and stuffs them with the likes of collard greens, dirty rice and mac & cheese. Smoked ribs, loaded baked potatoes and brisket sandwiches round out the offerings.

Then there’s Leo’s BBQ, an enduring institution since 1974, renowned for its hot links, smoked bologna sandwiches, chopped brisket and strawberry-banana cake.
