If your kids are obsessed with Bluey, Bingo and the rest of the pups on the animated hit “Bluey,” then you should take them to see the crew live on stage at the Civic Center! With an original story and brand-new music, this production will have you feeling as if you were transported inside your TV.

Head to the Shakespeare Gardens Outdoor Theatre for one of The Bard’s best political dramas, Julius Caesar. Witness the retelling of Caesar’s life and death featuring the classic, unforgettable monologues executed by a dynamic cast in an exhilarating night of theatre, performed under the stars.
September 11
The annual community event, Ballet Under the Stars, returns to Scissortail Park on Sept. 11. Arrive early to secure your seat and watch as the dancers from Oklahoma City Ballet warm up at 5:30 PM. Half an hour before the show at 6:30 PM, move your body and learn from the pros during their family dance class. Then sit back and enjoy the performance of beloved ballet pieces along with new, contemporary works beginning at 7 PM.
Bring the whole family out to the second annual Cruise! The Plaza Car Show—this celebration of automobiles will feature everything from vintage to muscle to custom cars plus the art and culture surrounding them.
September 12
Scissortail Park Concerts: OKC Philharmonic
The Oklahoma City Philharmonic presents Symphonies and Silver Screens this Sunday evening at Scissortail Park. This is the final performance of the Scissortail Park Concert series and will feature movie music you know and love, plus a few traditional pieces for a symphonic musical celebration.
Ahoy, mateys! Join Painted Sky Opera in its original production of The Pirate Project! Adapted by Artistic Director Rob Glaubitz featuring the music of Gilbert and Sullivan’s classic The Pirates of Penzance, the operatic ensemble tells the tales of real-life pirates throughout history. This is an interactive show, appropriate for swashbucklers of all ages, and will include engaging activities for the whole family immediately following the performance.
Oklahoma’s mash-up of a comic convention and arts festival returns to Oklahoma Contemporary, featuring professional comic creators from both Oklahoma and around the country. These artists will host panels, workshops and other programming, allowing guests to explore (and purchase!) comics, graphic novels and original art, as well as learn how to make your own comics. This family-friendly event is free and open to anyone with an interest in comic arts.
There will be dancing in the Bricktown streets at this year’s Bandwagon Music Fest. Two outdoor stages, and over 20 other participating venues, will host a massive musical extravaganza featuring over 45 artists playing any and all genres.
Everyone is welcome to Dance Day at the Oklahoma City Ballet! Guests of all skill level are encouraged to take a class or watch one of the many performances happening throughout the day. This day is meant to be fun and casual and help bring the community together to appreciate all forms of dance.

The powerful musical Come From Away, by David Hein and Irene Sankoff, is based on the true story which occurred in Gander, Newfoundland, when over 7,000 airline passengers were stranded because of the September 11 terrorist attacks. Come From Away highlights the good in humanity, focusing on the kindness of strangers, celebrating new friendships and being able to come together in a time of tragedy.
September 17 – 26
You never know what kind of performance is in store at a Fringe Festival, where newcomers in performing arts are celebrated by allowing original works to be performed in unexpected venues. This year is the 8th annual Theatre Crude Fringe Festival, which is bigger and better than before with over twenty pieces of new theatre to enjoy. Whether you go to just one show or buy a pass for the entire festival, it is a great way to get out and support the local artistic community.
September 17 – 27
Oklahomans know fall has arrived by two things: football and the Oklahoma State Fair. Whether you go for the food, the shopping, the entertainment or the fairway, the fair has something for everyone. This year’s entertainment includes Disney on Ice and live performances every night on the Chickasaw Country Entertainment Stage.

Scissortail Park’s Night Market
One of the most popular events of the summer returns this Friday evening at Scissortail Park, as it presents its Night Market. With incredible live entertainment, dozens of local vendors and merchants to shop from and delicious food trucks to serve dinner, there is plenty of fun for the entire family.
September 19
America the Beautiful: A 250th Celebration
The OKC Philharmonic season opens with the Classics concert America the Beautiful: A 250th Celebration. This ode to the United States features music from American composers George Gershwin and John Adams, and finishes with Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances.
Orr Family Farm Fall Festival Begins
Nothing says fall more than a trip to a pumpkin patch! Through Nov. 14, the Orr Family Farm is hosting its annual Fall Festival, complete with all of the autumn faves. There is so much to do for the whole family, this a great way to kick off the fall season.

Phil’s Great Symphonic Adventure
The Philharmonic’s mascot, Phil the Penguin, is taking the whole family on a musical adventure. Gather in the lobby at 1 PM for pre-show activities and then get ready to take flight through selections from some nostalgic movies including E.T., Toy Story and Back to the Future. This exciting journey of imagination is inspired by birds, boats and surprises and is a great way to introduce kids to orchestral music.
The Eighth Annual India Food & Arts Festival hosted by India Association of Oklahoma is back at Scissortail Park. Head downtown for delicious food, cultural performances, calligraphy and cooking workshops, henna artists and lots of vendors selling amazing goods.
September 22-27
The Civic Center will come alive with OKC Broadway’s production of The Sound of Music. For over 65 years, this beloved musical has been one of America’s Favorite Things and this is the perfect opportunity to introduce a whole new generation to Maria and Captain Von Trapp’s love story, featuring all of the delightful songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic score.
September 25
Every fourth Friday this summer, head downtown to the West Village and Film Row for the ultimate block party. In September, the district presents Slamtober Fest, which is an incredible combination of professional wrestling and craft beer. There will be live matches by Empire Pro Wrestling, seasonal beer releases and even a ring-side beer stein hoisting competition.
Byron’s Liquor Warehouse has teamed up with the Oklahoma City Zoo to present ZOOBrew this Friday evening. Raise a glass to support wildlife as you sample unlimited beer, wine and other tasty libations from local breweries, wineries and distilleries. There will also be non-alcoholic options as well! A portion of this year’s proceeds will go to support programs for primates across the world.

Traditional Cowboy Arts Association Exhibition and Sale
The annual Traditional Cowboy Arts Association Exhibition and Sale returns this Friday and Saturday to the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. This event features sophisticated artworks from members of the TCAA highlighting the creativity, beauty and functional use of traditional Western and cowboy accessories. Everything from belt buckles to saddles will be represented, with Saturday featuring a full day of panels discussing the artwork.

CU in the Park starring Russell Dickerson
Ten local credit unions have joined voices to present an unforgettable night of free music at Scissortail Park. This year, the headlining artist is country singer Russell Dickerson, who recently celebrated his sixth Number 1 hit: “Happen to Me.”
A full day of art, entertainment and family fun awaits you this Saturday as the annual Plaza Fest returns! Live performances begin at noon on the main stage, with plenty of artistic vendors to browse from, a family zone with fun activities for the little ones and delicious food trucks to enjoy. This event coincides with the 11th annual Plaza Walls Mural Expo, with incredible artists updating the iconic murals throughout the district.

Arcadia Annual Route 66 Balloon and Kite Festival
Head just outside the city to Parkhurst Ranch for the Arcadia Annual Route 66 Balloon and Kite Festival this weekend! With over a dozen hot air balloons, a kite show, helicopter rides, tethered balloon rides, food trucks and vendors, this is a perfect weekend outing for the whole family.
September 27
Oklahoma Derby Day and Wine Festival
Dress in your finest ensemble and head to Oklahoma Derby Day at Remington Park. Win prizes for being the most elegant, most creative, best bowtie and best couple as you watch the ponies. The wine festival includes wine tastings from some of Oklahoma’s best vineyards and wineries and guests receive a souvenir wine tumbler.
Yet another fun festival is happening this Sunday as the annual Mesta Festa returns to the historic Mesta Park district. This is a free, family-friendly event with a 21+ section for those who would like to enjoy a stroll through the beverage garden. There will also be live music, volleyball, local artists and pop-up shops!
