Symbols are important – they help unite the members of an organization and can inspire others to join as well, strengthening the cause from within and without. So when hundreds of area ladies gather at the Cox Center clad in crimson, it’s not a fashion statement; it’s a show of force in the fight against heart disease. The fatal affliction is often misunderstood or overlooked in female victims, so speaking up, sharing knowledge and experience and encouragement, makes it easier for everyone to live fuller, longer lives – hence the Go Red for Women Luncheon. A healthy lunch, informative panels, experts and speakers and auctions await guests at this annual fete.
