Sourcing local ingredients and partnering with neighboring businesses are the driving forces behind the latest downtown restaurant.
Block 23 is set to open in November in the space formerly known as the 1889 Land Run Café in the Sheraton Hotel as a modern restaurant and patio serving breakfast and lunch buffets, as well as separate plates.
Chef Steve Hall, who has worked in Vegas and Orlando, has developed the menu based on his passion for all things coastal Floridian and new age American. A partnership with Plaza favorite Pie Junkie and Oklahoma’s own coffee roasters EÔTÉ also makes waves on the menu, not to mention Block 23’s homemade ice cream.
“We are a contemporary casual restaurant that sources as many local ingredients as possible for our new takes on American dishes, set among beautiful, eclectic decor,” says Hall, the hotel’s executive chef.
A private dining room and outdoor patio with fire pits and heat lamps are also planned for the newly renovated space.
The restaurant will be open from 6:30 a.m until 2 p.m for breakfast and lunch buffets. Meanwhile, Sheraton Downtown’s Aria Lounge is offering guests the 1889 Land Run Café menu alongside Aria's dishes until renovations are complete.
