Entertaining 101: A Fierce Fiftieth Celebration

In a field of roses, be a wildflower! This 50th birthday was inspired by wildflowers and all things bohemian, and was designed exclusively for the guest of honor. The Yale Theater was the perfect backdrop for this milestone birthday, where Poppylane created a growing wildflower backdrop and darling bud vases lined the tables for a casual bohemian feel. Guests were greeted with a signature cocktail, the Fierce Fifty, upon arrival, and cotton candy was spun on site featuring an edible “50” wildflower sugar image.

Abbey Road served a heavy hors d’oeuvres menu featuring a marinated grilled vegetable display, peppered beef tenderloin crostini, shrimp cocktail served in a mini cocktail glass and bacon-wrapped chicken and artichoke brochettes, just to name a few. While the guests mingled, they took advantage of the interactive photo booth and enjoyed dancing and live entertainment throughout the night. To end the evening, guests enjoyed a dessert bar inspired by the guest of honor’s favorite desserts and love for lemon; while the four-tier wildflower cake by Amy Cakes was not only the focal point of the dessert bar, but the hit of the night.
