The annual Work the Runway fundraiser supports Goodwill Central Oklahoma’s free mission services for jobseekers, including skills training and career navigation. This is the fourth year since this event has been created, and the event staff say this will be the best year yet. In support of sustainable living, guests will be surrounded by an immersive atmosphere filled with decor made from 90% thrifted and upcycled materials created by local multi-disciplinary artist Leslie Hensley, known for her innovative work with Factory Obscura and OK Contemporary.

Goodwill is a non-profit workforce development organization established in 1936 that supports, educates, trains and promotes fair-chance employment and a sustainable future.

Dress your best and visit The Criterion at 500 E. Sheridan Ave. in OKC on Friday, Aug. 2, from 6:30-9 p.m. to learn more about it’s mission. This year’s theme is “Seasons of Opportunity.”

This captivating fashion show will feature models that are real Goodwill clients and team members with real stories to tell. There will be a Good Threads boutique where you can get more high-end clothing at an affordable price and chances to snap some good photos to share with friends. There will also be a silent auction where you can bid on exciting trips and prizes, including donations from community partners.

You won’t want to miss this event! Goodwill will also be awarding the Social Impact Champion of the Year, which honors a community member who has been championing Goodwill’s mission on social media.

Did you know? In 2023, more than 150 youth received free employment preparation to help them with future job confidence.
