Cortado Ventures new hire
J.D. Baker joins Cortado Ventures as its Platform Manager after serving nearly four years with the Oklahoma City Mayor’s Office. While at the mayor’s office, he focused on community relations and managed several projects supporting MAPS 4 initiative, economic development and diversity and inclusion.
Outside of his employment, he serves on the Board of Directors for the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City Black Chamber of Commerce, Midtown Association, and as a Civic Leader for the United States Air and Space Forces Chiefs of Staff. He was recently recognized as Oklahoma City’s Most Influential Young Professional by OKC Young Professionals and the top 5 of OKC Friday newspaper’s Most Powerful Young Professionals. He received his bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from the University of Oklahoma.
Oklahoma City Convention & Visitors Bureau new hires
The Oklahoma City Convention and Visitors Bureau recently added three new staff members.
April Smith joined the team as a Convention Sales Manager. Prior to joining the OKC CVB, Smith held various hotel leadership positions with Raymond Management Company in operations and sales during the past 16 years.
The OKC CVB also recently welcomed Jenna Mazzoccoli to the marketing team as the Communications Manager. Before working with the OKC CVB, she was on the editorial staff at the Buzz Magazines in Houston, Texas.
Katie Brickman, the new Convention Services Manager, will assist meeting planners with logistics and servicing needs for incoming meetings and conventions. Prior to joining the OKC CVB, Brickman was an Inside Sales Representative at Paycom. Brickman also spent two years as the Event Rentals Manager at the Myriad Botanical Gardens.
