Pride Month Events in the 405

During last year’s virtual Pride Week, many Oklahomans were able to interact in the online festivities, and while it was a good solution for 2020, it is no match for the explosion of celebration this year.

During last year’s virtual Pride Week, many Oklahomans were able to interact in the online festivities, and while it was a good solution for 2020, it is no match for the explosion of celebration this year. Featuring parades, music, pop-up bars, shops, and partnered events, OKC’s 2021 Pride will be one to remember. The basis of Pride serves as a celebration of LGBTQ+ liberation and equality, and along with enjoying this month’s upcoming events, it is important to recognize those who paved the way for this wonderful exclamation of love. Oklahoma City would not be what it is without the LGBTQ+ community and its allies, so let’s kick off this June with the best festivities yet!

Pride on the Plaza

Check out the Plaza District on Friday, June 11 for some exciting Pride programming, interactive murals, and a panel Q&A. This event starts at 6:30 p.m. in the courtyard and alley. Round up your crew and get a head start on the Pride celebrations.

OKC Zoo Sip and Stroll

On Thursday, June 24, from 6-10 p.m., gear up for a Pride-filled safari as OKC Zoo welcomes 21 and older guests to venture into an exotic world. To celebrate Pride, the Zoo presents a $30 drink passport that features 5-ounce specialty drink samples at six stations along the route. This Pride-themed drink-around-the-world event also has its perks if you’re attending for the animals and not simply the booze. Access to the Dino Safari, Stingray Bay, and Lorakeet interactive exhibit is included, as well as an exclusive sea lion presentation.
