Edmond’s Armstrong Auditorium is set to host a dazzling performance by the Romeros Guitar Quartet, otherwise known as “The Royal Family of the Guitar.” On Nov. 11 starting at 7:30 p.m., witness the musical magic that will unfold as the Quartet celebrates its 60th anniversary. Rather than a traditional string quartet, the Romeros Guitar Quartet offers a unique instrumental experience with a combination of guitar melodies and a classical style. “There is absolutely nothing like this on the series this season,” said Ryan Malone, Armstrong concert manager. “The sounds of this group will be carried by the crisp acoustics of our hall in a way that will be very special to the listener. An audience member would feel like they’re in the Romeros’ living room.”

Solos, duets, trios, and collaborations with vocalists will be featured during the Romeros’ performance in a mix of folk and classical music. As Malone said, “This is a blend of several unique elements: classical guitar, the Spanish culture, a long-standing family dynamic, and tradition.” The program will include works by Federico Garcia Lorca, Lorenzo Palomo, and Manuel de Falla, with a premiere of Douglas Cuomo’s “La Cita.”

With the ability to entertain countless audiences and receive raving reviews worldwide, the Romeros Guitar Quartet is not a show to miss. Malone called it a “uniquely special combination—four virtuoso family members playing a variety of quartets, trios, duos and solos. Armstrong is the perfect acoustic space to experience the artistic mastery of Los Romeros.”
