Japan Comes to OKC
One of OKC’s hottest ramen spots is about to get a little hotter. Chef Tomohiro Takamatsu runs Michelin-recommended Muginomichi Sugure in Nagoya, Japan, and for five days this summer — July 29-August 2 — he and his team will be hosting a takeover at Tamashii Ramen’s Memorial Road location. For his first time ever in Oklahoma, the chef is bringing his signature ramen bowl, made with chicken paitan broth and charcoal-grilled chicken. OKANA After Hours
After the sun sets, the party’s just getting started at OKANA. The massive resort and water park hosts OKANA After Hours, an adults-only late-night vibe, on July 18 and August 8. From 10 p.m. until 1 a.m., guests 21+ can enjoy all the OKANA fun — including cabanas, wave pool access, and drink specials — without the kids and the crowds. Raise a Glass to OKC’s Best Wine Destinations
Wine Spectator just announced its latest Restaurant Awards, highlighting global “dining destinations that share a dedication to wine.” 10 Oklahoma restaurants took home awards, including several in OKC, like Stock & Bond, Tellers, Flint Kitchen & Bar, Vast, and Rally Kitchen & Bar in Norman.
A Restaurant Legend Returns
One of the most legendary restaurants in OKC is back in action, following a year-long closure for renovations. Open since 1952, Florence’s Restaurant became the first Oklahoma restaurant to win a coveted James Beard Award in 2022, for soul sensations like yammed fried chicken, grilled beef liver, and catfish with tartar sauce. Renovations included replacing the roof, added a new pergola and kitchen floor, upgraded its landscaping, and more. Rise and Shine at Concrete Cowboy
Saddle up for your next caffeine fix, because OKC’s latest coffee shop has ridden into town. Speakeasy — and Sangria — Saturdays
By day and by night, Saturday drink specials are pouring in all summer-long. At Toast & Coffee, customers can get $6 summer sangria every Saturday through Labor Day, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Might I suggest taking your drinks to the shaded back patio? Later, Carletti’s and The Kentucky Club launched Speakeasy Saturdays. From 10 p.m. until midnight, all summer long, it’s a unique new option for nightlife, live jazz, and after-dinner cocktails in a vintage-chic setting.
