In our monthly Table Talk series, we gather food and drink news in one place for your convenience. Here’s what’s new in the Oklahoma City food and drink scene.

Golden Anniversary Specials at Chalkboard Kitchen + Bar

In honor of the original Tulsa location of The Chalkboard Kitchen + Bar marking its 50th “golden” anniversary this year, both locations — including Oklahoma City — are celebrating with special menus. Available all summer, $50 prix fixe menus feature legacy dishes like beef Wellington bites, 10-hour braised short rib, and Chalkboard bread pudding with dark rum glaze.

Skydance Brewing Co. Expands

From opening a new Midwest City location to forming a partnership with Lawton’s Apache Casino Hotel , the first Native-owned brewery in Oklahoma has been a smash hit since Skydance Brewing Co. first debuted in Automobile Alley in 2021. Now, they’re doubling down on that original location with the expansion of its Eagle’s Nest space. Previously a lofted lounge area over the taproom, the Eagle’s Nest 2.0 adds 2,000-sq.-ft. of additional space — including more patio — in the former Suite B next door. This also allows the brand to use a kitchen and add a food menu for the first time, featuring bites like flatbreads and burgers, along with Native dishes like bison meatballs. The new space opened August 1, with an expanded cocktail program to follow.

Off to the Races

The 2026 Remington Park Thoroughbred Season kicks off August 21-22, which also marks the return of Silks Restaurant overlooking the track. Located on the Clubhouse level, seating starts one hour before the first race at 6:30 p.m., so arrive early to fuel up on queso, crab cakes, chicken-fried chicken and Chuck Wagon chopped steak.

10 Buck Lunch Week

Midtown’s popular 10 Buck Lunch Week makes its return August 24-28, offering a plethora of budget-friendly lunch deals at neighborhood favorites. Available between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., $10 lunch specials will be announced on the website closer to the dates, but look for discounted deals at spots like Fassler Hall, The Goose Sandies & Bar, The Hall’s Pizza Kitchen, and Mexican Radio

An Immersive New Whiskey Experience

Home to more than 300 hand-picked American whiskeys, Stock & Bond OKC — located at The National, Autograph Collection Downtown OKC — has raised the bar with an immersive new whiskey experience designed to take guests beyond traditional tasting flights. “The Bonded Journey” features three Booker’s small-batch bourbons, including Charlie’s Batch 2023 and Storyteller Batch 2023, presented tableside in a hand-crafted wooden case known as “The Book of American Whiskey.” With the last sip, guests receive a combination card and are escorted to The Vault, a speakeasy-style bar nestled in the building’s original bank vault. Here, guests will use a combination card to unlock one of the safety deposit boxes to find the grand finale: bread pudding drizzled with warm caramel sauce and salted caramel ice cream. The Bonded Journey costs $50 per guest.

Speakeasy — and Sangria — Saturdays

By day and by night, Saturday drink specials are pouring in all summer-long. At Toast & Coffee, customers can get $6 summer sangria every Saturday through Labor Day, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Might I suggest taking your drinks to the shaded back patio? Later, Carletti’s and The Kentucky Club launched Speakeasy Saturdays. From 10 p.m. until midnight, all summer long, it’s a unique new option for nightlife, live jazz, and after-dinner cocktails in a vintage-chic setting.
