Not that there’s ever an off-season for margaritas, but there’s something pitch-perfect about a lime-soaked tequila tipple when the temperature spikes. Traditionally rounded out with Triple Sec, fresh lime juice and agave nectar, the classic cocktail comes in all forms across OKC, from tried-and-true classics to inventive novelties.

Among the most atmospheric spots in town, Power House is an oasis in the Farmers Market District, in a funky space that used to serve as a literal power house providing electricity for the neighborhood. Today, it’s got the look and feel of a West Texas desert dive, with kiva fireplaces and chile ristras outside, and a timber-clad interior that pairs disco balls with taxidermy. The bar specializes in beer and agave cocktails, including lime-soaked house margaritas, as well as seasonal specials, like smoky Hatch chile-infused margaritas. You can’t go wrong with any of their variations, especially when paired with a plate of Hawaiian pig biscuits—grilled bacon and ham sliders on fluffy Hawaiian rolls

Other top-shelf spots include Rev Mex, where margaritas—including jalapeño- and orange-infused versions—are as colorful as the dining room, and The Margarita Garden, which eschews concentrates and powder for scratch-made syrups and mixes.
