The ice cream shop, which opened last June, will add a second and third location in May.
Boom Town Creamery, which opened its first store at 605 NW 23rd St. last June, will open its second location May 4 and its third location May 17.
The ice cream store will add a location in Edmond at 17 E. Fifth St. and in the south Oklahoma City/Moore area at 10740 S. May Ave.
“It was always my plan to expand,” said Angela Muir, Boom Town Creamery creator and owner. “I really felt like Oklahoma City was ready for our ice cream, but I definitely had a longer game plan than opening two and then three in 2023. But I was approached with an offer to buy out Dolci Paradiso. And so it was a really good move for us.”
Even though adding two locations so quickly wasn’t necessarily in the plans for 2023, sales and the overall reception from the public to Boom Town Creamery has been more than Muir could have expected, she said.
“I could not be more happy with the perception, the sales, (and) the momentum around the 23rd Street location,” she said. “It has exceeded my expectations. And then the reception of the excitement that we’re seeing for these two new stores is definitely promising and has me very hopeful that they will do just as well as the 23rd Street location.”
The May 4 grand opening of the Edmond store and the May 17 grand opening in Moore will have special hours of noon to 10 p.m., with the first 50 people receiving free ice cream and the first 10 people receiving one free pint of ice cream for an entire year.
