The Paseo Arts District has exciting plans for the month of February by kicking off two new exhibition openings with its First Friday event. On Feb. 4 from 6-9 p.m., the historic Arts District will be open for the public to experience live music, dining and strolling through the diverse array of art galleries. Just for the month of February, the Paseo Arts and Creativity Center features two exhibitions that represent the connection and ambition that unite us within artwork.
The first gallery showcases Poetic City’s “Perception” performance that symbolizes an artist’s worldview in current times, including all varieties of human interaction and societal change.
“Gallery I is expected to be a high-energy and inclusive performance arts entity that supports all forms of creative expression,” said Amanda Bleakley, Executive Director of the Paseo Arts District.
The second featured exhibition for February will display artwork and other mediums of the Paseo Arts and Creativity Center’s Annual Members Show. This year’s juror is artist Nicole Moan, who holds over 20 years of experience with ceramics and sculptures.
“Gallery II highlights the best art works in all visual mediums created by our supportive members,” said Bleakley. “The Paseo Arts District aims to bring many new and exciting themed exhibits, refreshments and entertainment to Oklahoma City. The public can enjoy over 80 artists and more than 25 businesses—all within walking distance—showcasing their fresh art, apparel or cuisine for the month. It will be a great evening to linger in Paseo’s atmosphere.”
