Whether you’re alone at home or in need of some new company, now is the perfect time to find yourself a friend for life. With more and more pets being surrendered because of the pandemic, now is the perfect time to help BISSELL Pet Foundation with its commitment to Empty the Shelters and find forever homes for pets at the Yukon-based Pets & People Humane Society.
From Saturday, May 9 through Sunday, May 17, you can adopt a pet from one of 120+ participating organizations for $25 and BPF will sponsor the remainder of the adoption fee. Plus, for one week following this Empty the Shelters promotion, BPF will also cover the same cost for new foster families who fall in love and decide to adopt their pets. All adoptions will be facilitated by appointment only to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
In order to schedule an adoption appointment at the Pets & People Humane Society, you can email info@petsandpeople.com and fill out their adoption questionnaire. Most of the adoptable pets are visible on their website, petsandpeople.com.
If you can’t adopt, consider supporting BPF’s upcoming virtual walkathon, Walktail, “the Best DOG-GONE Walk in the Country.” The walkathon will raise critical funds for shelters and the animals in their care.
Although it isn’t affiliated with the BISSELL Pet Foundation, the Oklahoma Humane Society in Oklahoma City has adapted to the quarantine as well by switching strictly to scheduled appointments. Those in the OKC area wishing to adopt a pet can schedule an adoption appointment by calling (405) 607-0586.
