The grand opening for The Daily, a coworking and event space on the northwest side of Oklahoma City, is set for November 11. Owner Chelsay Day, who also owns Day Date Inc. and LC Management, said the space is a two-story, open-concept work and event space with a mezzanine and excellent amenities, including coffee and Champagne on tap.
“We have multiple private meeting rooms, a state-of-the-art conference room and common space suitable for events,” Day said. “We’re adding a podcast studio and a video studio, so that creative services projects can be produced in the building.”
Day said the entire space can be rented for private events, both social and professional, and The Daily has packages beginning with day rates (starting at $30) all the way up to six- and twelve-month contracts for business clients.
“We’re not going to nickel and dime our clients,” Day said. “We have an Elite package that includes a monthly massage and IV drips on Fridays. The goal was an elevated work experience — maybe even a bit bougie — with coffee, Champagne and a fully stocked fridge, among other amenities.”
Day has joined forces with Kelli Masters — founder of KMM Sports — a local NFL agent, attorney and owner of The Branch, a coworking space just east of Automobile Alley in the Tribune Capital building adjacent to The Parlor.
“We’re forming The Social Club,” Day said. “Members can have access to The Daily and The Branch, and it will launch simultaneously with The Daily. Members will also have access to rewards programs and discounts at other OKC businesses.”
Day and Masters have known each other since the 1990s. Both participated in the Miss Oklahoma programs, with Masters winning the pageant in 1997. They had spoken on several occasions about creating safe spaces with elevated services for clients.
“We’re both woman-owned businesses, but most of our clients are men, and I’m glad that Oklahoma has so many men who support women-owned businesses,” Day said. “We’re not marketing to women specifically, but we’re not not marketing to them either.”
Day had originally planned to open The Daily somewhere in the urban core, but circumstances kept slowing the process.
“I got a call from a client one day about this building up on the northwest side (11217 N. May),” Day said. “He knew I’d been looking for a building, and he told me this one was available and sounded perfect for what I wanted. As soon as I walked in, I loved the mezzanine set up and saw all the potential.”
Day said one of the things she learned and practiced during the pandemic was not to discount services but make it easier for clients to pay for those services. “We made an installment plan available at Day Date during COVID, and we’re doing the same thing for The Daily. Clients can pick a payment plan that works with their budget and revenue schedule, including weekly or biweekly payments.”
The Daily is a key fob entry, secure building with plenty of parking front and back. The partnership with Masters means clients can access services both in the urban core and on the northwest side, and the distance between the two facilities is only 17 minutes. And, yes, the Champagne on tap is included with membership, but that doesn’t mean it’s the best way to start a Monday — but it doesn’t mean it’s not.
