OK Artist Secures Oscars Spot

Edmond artist’s work is chosen for the Oscars’ swag bag.

Artist Reian Williams has beaten hundreds of creative minds from around the world to secure a spot in the Oscar nominees’ gift bags.

The successful Edmond resident will be the featured artist among the most coveted collection of goodies in the Everyone Wins Nominee Gift Bags.

“I couldn’t believe that my art was going to be showcased on that level,” says an elated Williams. “I’ve been floating ever since.”

The emotive realism artist, who is self-taught, has achieved great success for his murals and fine art pieces.

He recently returned to Oklahoma, after studying in London and then living in Florida and North Carolina for almost two decades.

He is currently a featured artist of the Hue Fine Art Gallery in Edmond. Williams’ work, which is never featured as a reproduction, earned him the Best in Show award at the Paseo Arts Festival in 2016.

Valued at more than $200,000, the gift bags are given to nominees in certain categories.

As well as including a piece of fine art by Williams, the goodie bag also contains pamper packages, clothing, jewelry and even luxury getaways to Italy.

The swag bag, put together by Distinctive Assets, is considered the ultimate consolation prize for those movie stars who don’t win a golden statue.
