The country music superstar is the first customer for Westerlund Audio and its debut pedal.
Westerlund Audio recently released its debut preamp, overdrive and boost pedal, named the Westerlund ONE, and Vince Gill will be using the ONE pedal while on tour this summer with The Eagles.
The pedal is designed to give musicians a tone-shaping platform that acts like a vintage mic preamp with plenty of gain/saturation as it is designed to be an extension of the player’s sound.
Users get plenty of gain and volume out of the ONE by pushing it, but it stays true to their original signal while providing a more balanced, fuller and dynamic tone, according to information from Westerlund Audio.
With three unique modes (Clipping Off aka “Amp Mode”, Germanium ‘GE’ Clipping, and Silicon ‘SI’ Clipping), a gain boost, a musical three-band EQ and plenty of headroom, the ONE covers a wide range of sounds (from transparent to full-on tube saturation) that enhance the musicality of the player’s instrument and their unique playing.
The Westerlund ONE became available nationwide April 15 for $379, and 10% of profits go to MusiCares, a charity that supports musicians with emergency and recovery services.
