This wintertime table layers seasonal delights to prompt meaningful conversations and provide for a memorable evening. To create such an inviting scene, Keven Calonkey Carl and Cassidy Brunsteter of Mister Robert Fine Furniture and Design combined family heirlooms and personal collections with classic and modern design touches. Bountiful florals from The Flower Truck and gourmet desserts by L’Arc Patisserie complete the party.

Italian earthenware in the Faenza “Carnation” pattern is paired with vintage Egyptian revival plates, specifically the Fitz & Floyd “Ramses” pattern. The Italian plates are from Carl’s family (passed down from previous generations), while the “Ramses” plates were family gifts to Brunsteter. Even though they have different origins, the plates have colors and patterns that complement each other well. The mix also establishes an orange-and-blue theme for the decor.

Collectible crystal stemware and silver pieces sit beside soft blue napkins in crystal rings. Various blues repeat on the ginger jars. Orange colors appear throughout the surrounding artwork, all paintings by Kelly O’Neal from Dallas. The tables and chairs are in a classic walnut finish but with clean lines and streamlined legs. All together, it becomes an eclectic yet harmonious display.

The stunning centerpiece comprises crystal candlesticks in various heights and two golden reindeer nestled among abundant flowers and garland. Blue-and-white ginger jars overflow with arrangements by The Flower Truck. Shades of green, orange and purple are carried by free spirit roses, terra cotta roses, anemone, ranunculus, seeded eucalyptus and helleborus. Playful stems are also carefully plucked and placed throughout the evergreen garland, extending the flowers’ intriguing textures and colors down the table for all to admire.

The final touch: generous pours of Pinot Noir rose and a selection of seasonal sweets. L’Arc Patisserie handcrafted the couverture chocolate treats and—just like a present—each contains a surprise. The Christmas tree holds pistachio crémeux, raspberry confit and chocolate feuilletine. The yellow ornament has coconut ganache mousse, pineapple vanilla confit and mango coulis. The bright red-glazed treat reveals dark chocolate mousse, mango cream, raspberry coulis and a chocolate sponge cake, while the red gift contains strawberry mousse, strawberry and pink guava coulis. This combination of local talent culminates in a pleasing result: a spectacular setting, perfect for hosting parties during this season of merriment.
