The Norman Music Festival has returned for its 2022 season! After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, prepare to join the frenzy in downtown Norman this weekend, April 28-May 1. Downtown Norman will be decorated with live music, art exhibitions and featured treats from local restaurants.
Founded in 2008, the Norman Music Festival was originally planned as a one-day event, but with the community’s support and outreach, artists from all over the country are now lined up to rock out for the public in a multi-day extravaganza.
From alternative to pop and punk-rock, there’s a plethora of musicians performing in this year’s free festival — local venues will be hosting a wide variety of artists, so be sure to swing by Bison Witches, Bluebonnet Bar, Sooner Theatre, The Winston and more. This year’s festival has a talented array of headliners, starting with Luna Luna and Dreamgirl on Thursday. The Drums are set to perform Portamento on Friday, along with Husbands and DIIV. To wrap up the killer tunes, Saturday will showcase Mothica and Zsela.
Over 300 bands will be jamming throughout Downtown Norman this weekend, with an expected turnout of nearly 100,000 people. Family-friendly activities will be located all along the street, with fair food, mini carnival rides, games and interactive art stations. The two-year-awaited Norman Music Festival kicks off its local and international talent this Thursday, so don’t miss out before the weekend passes you by!
