The Oklahoma City Convention Center marks the end of its second year in operation with more than 195,000 visitors.
In total, 195,685 visitors attended events or meetings at the Oklahoma City Convention Center in 2022, which marks a 76.1% increase in usage over its first year of use, 2021.
The convention center hosted several national conventions, such as the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Association, the Utilities Technology Council, the American Society of Animal Science, the National Brownfields Training Conference, the National Indian Education Association, the International Economic Development Council, and the TEAMS Conference and Expo.
The Van Gogh Immersive Experience brought more than 70,000 attendees along during its monthlong run during December 2022 and January 2023. In total, the center hosted 149 events, which is an increase of 16.4% from its inaugural year, and it was in use for 317 days.
Oklahoma City Convention Center leadership estimate the overall economic impact from the convention center in 2022 to be $29.6 million, which is an increase of 93.4% from 2021.
“We are incredibly proud to have welcomed both local and national events through our doors,” said Barbara Beaton, OKCCC general manager. “There is a clear demand for and growing interest in our venue from all types of organizations considering OKC as a destination. We expect continued growth in 2023, 2024 and beyond.”
