Oklahoma City plays a starring role in this year’s Christmas book from Southern Living. The popular book from the enduring magazine has given readers ideas for holiday decorating, cooking and entertaining for about four decades.

Specifically, the book features photo after photo of the city’s colorful Bradford House, all decked out for the holidays in Christmas with Southern Living 2022.

Another Oklahoma City connection? The book’s executive editor: Katherine Cobbs, who grew up in the 405 and who worked with 405HOME’s Sara Gae Waters as the location stylist on the photo shoot. Cobbs’ company, Blueline Creative Group LLC, produced the book.

Cobbs said she found all kinds of holiday inspiration for the book’s “All Is Bright” feature at Sara Kate and Jason Little’s Bradford House. At the boutique hotel, every room in the common area is filled with vibrant colors and objects that are fun to take in as eye candy. For Christmas, designers mixed whimsy and retro looks to match the hotel’s design.

“They gave us all sorts of fun ways to decorate,” Cobbs said, and she added that she loved the way that Sara Kate Little told a colorful story about the historic home when designing for it. “It was a perfect setup for location photography … It really did offer us amazing vignettes.”

Every nook and cranny at the Bradford House photographed by the Southern Living Christmas book offers something special for the holidays. Each room in it shines on any day of the year, thanks to designer Sara Kate Little’s keen eye and her Pastiche Studios. But the holiday decor gives the whole place an extra sparkle.
