The donation helps the district-wide philanthropic initiative to fight hunger for students in Moore Public Schools.
For the third year in a row, The Boldt Company donated $10,000 to Moore Public Schools’ annual charitable campaign, Moore Love.
The philanthropic initiative strives to unite the community to fight hunger, support programs for healing and fund solutions for Moore residents.
“Moore Love is an amazing campaign Boldt is proud to support,” said Jeff Shipley, Boldt Southern and Western Operations president. “As long-term partners of MPS, we know Moore students and their families are resilient. To be a small part of supporting them is very meaningful.”
Funds from this year’s campaign will benefit five community organizations, including the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, Bridges Moore, Mary Abbott Children’s House, The Sparrow Project and Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children.
“The Moore Love fundraising campaign was born in 2018 out of our need to use the Regional Food Bank’s Backpack Program,” said MPS Superintendent Dr. Robert Romines. “MPS has approximately 700 students who go home without enough food to sustain them over the weekends. We take care of our own, so now, not only do we fund this program each year ourselves, but Moore Love has grown into a fundraising powerhouse to support local agencies that directly serve our students and families. I’m so proud of our MPS students, their families, our employees and our incredible community and business partners. We’re so blessed.”
RFBO provides food items in backpacks for about 700 MPS elementary students. Bridges Moore works with emancipated and/or homeless teens to provide stable housing, food, clothing and mentorship as the students work to earn a high school diploma. Mary Abbott Children’s House offers a secure place for children to speak about their experiences related to abuse, neglect or other life-altering events. The Sparrow Project provides a safe environment for adults with intellectual disabilities to thrive and connect with others through classes and social events. OBHC assists with child placement and aids mothers who are single or expecting a child.
