Three Things to Do in Branson This Holiday Season

From shopping to entertainment, Branson offers amazing holiday attractions

1. Silver Dollar City
Silver Dollar City is geared up for Christmas with 6.5 million LED lights lining almost
every surface of the park. There is a reason this incredible holiday light display has won
USA Today’s “Best Theme Park Holiday Event” award five times and is nominated
again this year!
Once inside, be sure to ride family-friendly roller coaster Fire in the Hole for the last time
this year before it’s replaced with a brand new, 30-million-dollar version opening next
summer.
When you need a rest, go see one of the two Broadway-style Christmas shows or hop on
the sing-along steam train. We saw Dickens’ Christmas Carol, which definitely got us in
the holiday spirit — especially when it started snowing over the audience!
After dark, head up to Town Square and enjoy Rudolph’s Holly Jolly Christmas Parade.
The 80-foot Christmas tree is the main event, though, with 320,000 lights that produce
two million shades! Sit back and immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the season.

2. Go Shopping!
Branson has SO MANY stores and is perfect to finish your holiday shopping. Take a
stroll through Dick’s 5 & 10 on Main Street. With over 75,000 items, you’re sure to find
something for everyone on your list. For the style icon in your life, check out Freshwater
Designz or its sister store The Crystal Fish, which are filled with fun décor and
accessories. For a more personal gift, visit the Branson Craft Mall, where you can pick up
coffee, beef jerky or a variety of other handcrafted items from local vendors.

3. See a Show
With over 100 shows, you’re sure to find something you like. But if you’re looking for
something holiday themed, let me suggest a few!
One of the best things we did in Branson was take a trip on the Showboat Branson Belle.
This two-hour tour of Table Rock Lake includes a three-course meal, plenty of time to
explore the boat and a live performance featuring lots of Christmas hits!
If you’ve ever wished Medieval Times was more Christmassy, then definitely check out
Dolly Parton’s Stampede. Live horses performing astounding tricks, aerial dancers and
a full nativity display make this a show to remember.
The incredible set, costumes and lighting of Queen Esther puts Sight and Sound on a
level unlike anything else in Branson. Featuring a talented 55-person cast with over two
dozen animal performers, every detail in this show has been thought out, and it shows.
If you have extra time, spend the morning at the interactive Titanic Museum. This year,
it is selling commemorative Rare Red Teddy Bears, honoring each child aboard the
Titanic.

Branson’s Christmas season ends Dec. 30, so definitely plan a trip with your family to
experience everything it has to offer!
